Thanks for the nice comment. I'm going to try to finish up the heavy construction today, so I can concentrate on the finish over the next week.. I hear the weather is supposed to improve next week, so I need to be ready for top coats.

I spent the better part of today further sanding, shaping, and refining the body. Got a few more coats of sealer on there, and a top coat on the face and sides. I'll shoot a couple of pics tomorrow, as a flash would wash out the character of the wood.. Looking promising at this stage. I mounted the neck and strap buttons, just to get a feel for the balance (I always handle guitars by the neck and bottom strap buttons- otherwise it doesn't feel right to me) and it has a nice balance point. Then I disassembled everything and did more finish prep. It's redundant, but it's the way I do things. That way I can check to make sure the guitar will go together right when it finally gets assembled, and gives me a chance to change/improve/modify things as the build progresses.

Sounds like things are coming along Rich, I think it is your level of attention to detail in your finishes that first drew me to your guitars and to approach you for the build. It is looking fantastic so far and can't wait for more pics ;D Thanks ;D

Jeremy, I've been working on the guitar, fitting pickups etc... I started looking closely at our layout for the knobs, and think the original placement looks/feels too cramped. I liked it in the layout, but not in hand. I placed a couple of pennies on the face where I would suggest the volume and tone knobs would look/work best. The splitter and selector switches will work great as per original plan, but the vol/tone knobs would be too tightly placed, IMO.. Would these locations work ok for you?

Thanks! I'll drill it out today. I wanted to do the holes before getting too far on the final finish.
