I tried to go without cable, but my wife had a fit.. She "needs" to watch the news in the morning. Otherwise, I'd live on M*A*S*H, (I have the whole thing on DVD) Indiana Jones, Crocodile Dundee, and Back to the Future...

Rich, if you haven't seen all 7 seasons of the Sopranos and all 3 (?) seasons of Deadwood, you are missing a LARGE part of our recent national TV heritage. These are to me the two greatest shows that have ever been on TV.

Rich, if you haven't seen all 7 seasons of the Sopranos and all 3 (?) seasons of Deadwood, you are missing a LARGE part of our recent national TV heritage. These are to me the two greatest shows that have ever been on TV. I know Sopranos has been wildly popular, but I never got into it.. I didn't care for "The Godfather", and the few times I turned on the Sopranos I couldn't follow it.. Maybe I have to open my mind, and start at the beginning.. Deadwood didn't hold my interest for five minutes, again maybe I need to give it a try from the beginning. I have enjoyed "Lost", although it has had long stretches of some mediocre parts.. "Prison Break" was pretty good, but the long lapses kind of kill the momentum. "24" was great, then became too predictable. I enjoy the National Geographic channel from time to time, as well as the Discovery Channel. Most of the time I turn the TV on for background noise, then ignore it... Comes from working alone day after day, I guess..
