My skinny friend (a long-time guitar buddy) splits a TV dinner with his wife, and maybe a piece of bread.. My wife and I like to cook, and enjoy trying new foods. We discussed our differences, and it came down to either one approach or the other.. I may die young, but it won't be from malnutrition or starvation... How about you?

Other than a good dessert, I don't get too excited about food. To me, food is kind of like a car: a purely practical concern, a way of getting from here to there (i.e. from being hungry/weak to being satsified/energized). Now, coffee, I get excited about.

What's that old joke about being on a seafood diet? I see food & I eat it.

I'm lucky enough to live 15 minutes from the city of 10,000 restaurants so my wife and I are veteran restaurant cruisers. Unfortunately since I'm about 45 pounds overweight I need to curb my appetite now. But I guess the fact that I'm unemployed right now will help me lose that weight. I guess I can't win no matter what, huh??

Wish I didn't love it so much. Being a good cook doesn't help.
