I just had a crazy idea that might be fun.. With internet and e-mail, it is possible to move information all over the world. This still freaks me out a little, as I'm no spring chicken, but it is a reality nonetheless. It might be fun to do a kind of "progressive recording project", where different members of the board could add tracks and forward the files via either the board or e-mail. I've never done this, but believe it to be possible. It would be interesting to see what we could come up with together. I'm not sure of the mechanics of the whole thing, but perhaps one of you would have a better knowledge of how to make it work. Is there any interest in this type of project, or have I lost my mind?

I'm thinking it could be done As far as a recording program, something like Audacitywould probably work for this. It's not fancy but records quite well and is a free download

I like the idea... could I come up with a way to use my Boss BR900CD for the recording? I'm not sure how it would work out. I might have to upload a track to my computer from the Boss.

I'm not sure about how it can work, but I have heard it can be done (pretty easily). I'll try to find more info.. Could be a fun little project!

Hey Marty- I just downloaded Audacity, and it looks pretty cool.. Have you used it before? How is the quality/flexibility?

Hey Marty- I just downloaded Audacity, and it looks pretty cool.. Have you used it before? How is the quality/flexibility? Man this computer at work sucks I have used it some You can go into preferences and adjust the quality There are effects you can add, loop with it I guess a lot would depend on your computer I have done some recording directly from my keyboard and they sound pretty good

Well, I just got it working.. One small step for me. I'll have to fool around with it a while, to learn the program. It looks like it would combine with other formats, so it could be a viable solution.. I asked my son (Andy) if he'd be up for some recording (He's a great drummer), and he said he'd love to do some. Chris is a bassist and guitarist- I'm sure he'll chime in here pretty soon, too. Looks like it could work. I'll bet TheViking would dig it, too.

I think its a good idea. I'm not too good with the recording stuff but one of my room mates does a good job. On the other hand my playing might not be very welcomed haha.

I'm not great with anything digital, but we have to learn sooner or later.. Playing is subjective.. Sometimes I'm pretty good, sometimes not. We all try, though. Don't worry about it.
