Just about two years ago that my #47 Rice showed up at the door. Took the day off from work cuz I did not want to miss it.
This is the geetar that I love for some aggressive fingerpicked blues. With nuttin between the guitar and amp but a cable, she runs from smooth to a percussive staccato funk to a nice bit of nasty growl. The neck pickup when tapped and on its own gives out a sound that is in the ballpark of one of my old Gibson Jumbos with the DeArmond 210 slapped across the soundhole. Think Elmore James and Lightnin' Hopkins on steroids. The bridge pup well that is just downright dangerous. Put 'em together and what a joyful noise. Ain't much of a twanger though but that it by design.
And after two years, I still just love to prop it in the corner and look at it. Must be love.

Wow, two years. I think the longest I have owned a guitar is 6 months. I think being terminally married makes be subconsciously act like a love-em-and-leave-em badass with my guitars. Really, though, I like the excitement of getting new guitars often, and with the fine internet marketplaces available to us, you can do this without losing and arm and a leg....
