had??? That is too sweet to let go... It couldn't compete with the other stuff I was playing at the time (mostly RCG #013 and my '78 Telecaster). Bill's finishes are much thicker than ours and the guitar never felt "organic" enough for me. The '83 Squier SQ neck was a good one, the Van Zandt pickups were classic Steve Cropper tone, I just never got into the guitar (beyond the looks, of course).

I love my Crook Tele.. She's been my #1 since I acquired her. And that TV Jones in the neck sure didn't hurt the love

The sad part is that most of the guitars in that picture are gone

Maybe you could answer a question about the finish for me. How thick is it, and is it poly or nitro?

Maybe you could answer a question about the finish for me. How thick is it, and is it poly or nitro? The one I had was nitro. It was a thick finish that never cured all the way. I waited close to two months before assembling it, and the finish pillowed around the neck plate. Here are the photos from when I sold it: smg.photobucket.com/albums/v328/wildricechris/Crook/

Cool amps John. I almost picked up a '62 Brown Deluxe while in college, just didn't have the money at the time. Very sweet one.

When I went to buy it, they said there was a problem with the computer and to come back the next day, and when I came back the amp had been shipped to the Hollywood store where it disappeared from the system and I lost a steal of a deal.

...a little (lot?) late to the party, but I play a '68 Telecaster with '71 CBS-Fender/Seth Lover WRHB neck pup through a '69 Super Reverb with factory-installed JBL/D110F speakers.
...P.S.--I'm "still" mulling over prospects of having you create a custom "Tele-like" geetar for me...as soon as I can locate a WRHB to provide to you to install.
