I've sweated it out a couple of times with the SD Lil' 59er pickups fitting tightly in tele bridges, but have been lucky so far.. Hope your Hot Rails is OK.
I like the white over white w/maple, too.

I kind of like this look. I don't think the Kisekae mockup really did the idea justice. Everything's kind of lopsided, but you get the general idea. I got the Super-2 pickup uncovered this morning.

I hate to carve up another Tele body so it can't be used with a normal single coil bridge pickup again. I've done that enough times.... and it tends to be rather permanent! So I'm still planning to install a neck humbucker, but today I called the Duncan Custom Shop and ordered one of these "Pearly Gates™ Esquire®" pickups. www.seymourduncan.com/products/custom-shop/telecaster/bg14002930k_for/One of those stacked pickups. So it'll look pretty much like a normal Tele pickup. Haven't decided what to use for a neck humbucker, but judging from my discussion with the Custom Shop person, my guess is that the old Super-2 is in the right ballpark. She said that it's pretty powerful, but has less power than a Duncan Distortion. She said, about as strong as a Duncan Custom 5. So, I'll finally get to use the Glendale Cold Rolled Steel plate and saddles.

Sounds cool, Pete. I haven't tried one of those Pearly Gates Esquire pickups before. We'd love to hear your impression once the guitar gets built. ;D I have to add that I like the black t-style in the Glendale better than a cream 'bucker on this one. It should kick some major ...

Yeah, I think I'd call this progress. Cosmetically anyhow. I'm guessing that it'll sound like some of the Billy Gibbons Esquire clips that show up on youtube. Without the benifit of Rev. Billy doing the playing. Here's one with him, Cindy Cashdollar, Jimmy Vaughn, and.... who's that SNL guy? His name slips my mind. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iLZCvNGfzo
