Well... did it arrive? What do you think? After oh, 3 hours of playing time squeezed in between business, wife & dogs, I gotta tell ya . . . . it's hard to describe. It's a beautiful piece to look at, the woods, the finish . . . it feels great in my hands & hangs just right. Those Don Mare pickups are astounding! The range of tones with the 5 way and the blend control is mind boggling. I'm extremely impressed, and I'm consciously holding back here since I'm still in the honeymoon phase. The cleans run the gamut from jangly to chimey to a damn fine vintage Tele cut. Dimed through my 15 watt class a handwired 6V6 1x12 combo with an Italian Jensen it flat out rocks, and still has good note definition coming through the distortion. With a Skreddy Screwdriver Deluxe set on the warm side with moderate gain it makes me play power cords and stand there smiling like an idiot. I haven't been this amused by E A D rock rhythm in years! Leads? OOOoohhh man, pulloffs and hammerons were never a strong point for me, but they're suddenly improving . . . . must be the neck! ;D Ok, so i'm starting to bubble over here. New vistas, more desire to practice, creativity stimulated - all the hallmarks of a really good instrument. Nice work guys! BTW, did you get my PM on my pick gaurd thoughts?

Play the crap out of that guitar! Nothing thrills me like a guitar getting worn out through play.
I should get my preferences to notify me of PMs...I just read it and will respond shortly. The easiest way to contact me is through e-mail.

Its hard to find room to play between the wife and dog, I agree; but the tummy cut should help you squeeze in there.
I know the exact feelings you describe of getting a new Rice guitar. Awesome.

Ya know, one of the things I find most impressive about this axe is that when I roll the volume back to 8 or nine, it doesn't just retain it's character, it actually gets crisper, it jingles, it sounds . . . crystaline! How did you guys do that!? I've played it through my handwired Lancaster, my bone stock blues JR, my Blackheart Handsome Devil, my '75 Traynor Bassmate, and one night I had to play it through a Line 6 combo (thank Gawd for good pedals). It just flat sounds awesome through all of them. Pick two and run 'em stereo and ya gotta pry me outta my jam room!

I can't reveal my wiring secrets. Hoodoo Magic seems to be the best explanation for how ya get all that stuff to do what it does and then fit it all under a control plate. Very, very nice guitar. I love those Kingswood boards - beautious. Play the heck out of her.
