Don't I know it! It should be waiting for me when I arrive home this evening. I may even leave work a little early. If it snows like they say it's going to, I might have to take a "snow day" tomorrow.

She arrived in good shape & in tune right out of the box. Knobs & covers need cleaning, but that's just cosmetics. Otherwise she's a beauty. I just have to say, FREAKIN' OUTSTANDING!!! 7# 8oz. of sheer dynamite!!! I'm not worthy of this guitar. I'll definitely have to get serious about playing & crank up my abilities about 50 notches. The neck feels fabulous. It plays like a dream & the tone is incredible. And I've only been noodling straight into my Space Tone using a V-Pick big fattie. My hat's off to Rice Custom Guitars. I'm already thinking about what I can sell out of my collection so I can add a Tele style Rice to go with it. Best dough I've spent in a long time! Now, anyone know of a good guitar instructor in the NW Chicago suburbs with the patience to take on a 55 year old novice? This guitar deserves to be played by someone who can bring out the best in her. I need to get way better. :-)

Good to hear! That guitar was a fantastic instrument for the original price (quite a bit more than $1K). It was slightly aged at the original purchaser's request, so some of the dirt on the covers and knobs is probably original.

I teach in Bloomingdale (http://bloomingdaleschoolofmusic.com) and have one opening (Wednesday at 6PM I think). If you want to do a trial lesson, give a call over there and ask for one with Chris Rice. I've been booked solid there (32 students each week) since August, just had one student drop after three years so she could do some gymnastics thing. I've been teaching since 2000 and have a B.A. in Music from Elmhurst College. I have one student on TGP and a former student on TDPRI in a similar situation to yours.

I thought that might have been the case. I looked at the pictures on your site again & saw the slight "wear" on the neck. The neck feels good. The knobs are now dirt free & I'll get at the pick up covers later.

I'll give the school a call & set something up. Thanks!

Yeah, he wanted the neck finish and hardware lightly distressed.

The distressing is fine. The "dirt" I can do without.

I called the school & set up a lesson for the 20th. Unfortunately I have guests arriving next Wednesday & couldn't do it on the 13th. Lookin' forward to it.

Sweet lookin' guitar. And hey, I played my first gig in 1966 and still feel like a novice.
